The University of the West Student Association (UWSA) held a workshop Thursday, April 14, on climate change and environmental issues for the benefit of UWest faculty and staff.

UWSA President Monica Sanford gave a presentation on climate change to about 30 people, then had the audience participate in group projects focused on ways to improve recycling and environmental awareness on campus. UWSA officers Holly Hisamoto and Mike Wong also facilitated the event.

Jeffrey Lin, Director of General Services at UWest, gave a closing presentation on some of the specific activities UWest is engaged in to limit its carbon footprint.

UWSA is the student government on campus. It’s regular meetings are on Fridays at 4 p.m. in Room AD 208 and students are encouraged to attend.
