Buddhist Geeks Conference 2011

University of the West is a conference partner in Buddhist Geeks | The Conference, which will be held on campus July 29th-31st.

The event “brings together some of the most exciting teachers, leaders and thinkers from the US and beyond as Buddhist Geeks continues its ongoing mission to discover the emerging face of Buddhism.”

Among those who will participate in the conference are Dzogchen Ponlop Rinpoche, Shinzen Young, Jane Mcgonigal, Trudy Goodman, Ken McLeod, Diane “Musho” Hamilton, Hokai Sobol, Diana Winston, and UWest’s Buddhist Chaplaincy Program Coordinator Rev. Danny Fisher.

Buddhist Geeks is an immensely popular digital media project that “includes a free digital magazine and popular weekly audio program [featuring] interviews and discussions with some of the most influential teachers and luminaries in the Western Buddhist world.”

The Conference includes (among other things) keynote addresses, roundtables, workshops, and creative performances.
