Wenzhou University Delegation Visited University of the West

On Friday, June 22, a delegation from our sister-university, Wenzhou University, China, visited UWest. This delegation comes from Oujiang College of Wenzhou University. The members of the delegation includes Mr. Wu Yiqi, Vice Dean of the College, Ms. Qiu Xiaoya, Director of Academic Affairs, and Ms. Shi Hui, Lecturer in English. Oujiang College is an independent college at Wenzhou University with more than 7,800 students. It is one of the top independent colleges in China.

President Wu, Dean Howe, Dr. Bill Chen, Professor Vanessa Karam, Professor Michael Grosso, and Mr. Glenn Dunki-Jacobs met the delegation and discussed the cooperation between two institutions. UWest has signed a special cooperative agreement with Oujiang College to offer an 1+4 degree program, in which students from China will study for one year at Oujiang College to improve their English as well as taking several GE courses; then qualified students will come to the UWest to study for about 4 years to earn UWest’s Bachelor’s degree.
