Meet Our Tutors
Keith Brown Ed.D. is the director of the Student Success Center. Dr. Brown has over 20 years of experience teaching English as a Second Language and English as a Foreign Language as well as being an academic writing coach. His background also includes more than a decade of teaching in Japan. His rich experiences prepare him perfectly for coordinating UWest’s Student Success Center, which provides academic support to University of the West students.
Dr. Brown earned his doctorate in Educational Leadership and Change from Fielding Graduate University in 2004. He has an M.A. in Humanities with a focus on EFL/ESL Teaching. He also carries certificates in TESOL teaching and Learning Community and Facilitator Development, plus International Tutoring Association Certification.
Annie Lo is a writing tutor, ESL tutor and the Student Success Center Assistant Annie first came to UWest from Taiwan in 2012 as an MBA exchange student and currently is in the MFT program which she started in 2014. She is passionate about language learning and has a Master’s degree in Teaching Chinese as a Second Language. Annie loves to share abundant language learning resources and have cultural exchanges with students at UWest.
Farmata Fall is an undergrad Business student. She has been at UWest for one year. She started tutoring at the Success Center during her first semester at UWest. Farmata enjoys tutoring because she was an ESL student when she first came to the U.S. and had a tutor who really helped her overcome the language barrier. This is why she wants to help students.
Pa Moua is the Math and Business tutor with over 15 years of experience in business, marketing, finance and human resources. Pa is known for her ability to listen hear and understand. Pa is also noted for her commitment to quality.
Venerable Hong is currently in the MA Psychology program and has earned an MA in Divinity degree in 2015. She has been a student at UWest since 2011 and has been a tutor since 2012. She Helps students with their conversational, writing, presentation, and public speaking skills in all subjects except math. She likes helping students because she empathizes with students and the challenges they go through in learning English as a Second Language.
