How to Register

To sign-up, please email us at extendedstudies@uwest.edu and simply state your intent to attend the lecture.

How to Access Online

Be advised that the lecture series occurs at 6:00-7:30pm Pacific Standard Time in Rosemead California. Please adjust to the time zone accordingly.

To attend the lecture series online, you will enter and join a web conference via your internet browser. A link will be emailed containing the website address 30 minutes prior to each lecture’s start time. No account setup is necessary. Just simply provide your name and email address in the sign-in page. In the web conference, there will be a live video feed and accompanying PowerPoint slides. Attendees communicate through use of the chat room. Online attendees are encouraged to sign-in earlier to resolve last minute technical hiccups.

Tips for a Smooth Online Experience

Please take the time to test your system to check if it meets the software requirements. Please ensure all tests pass green with the exception of the webcam and microphone test as it is only for presenters.

It’s advised to check your internet speed before the start of every lecture. Most problems are caused by poor network speeds. In the test, please select a server close to Florida and click the green “Begin Test” button. A minimum 1.0 Mbps download and 0.5 Mbps upload speed are ideal for a smooth online experience.
