Śakraparivarto dvitīyaḥ|
tena khalu punaḥ samayena
śakro devānāmindrastasyāmeva parṣadi saṁnipatitaḥ saṁniṣaṇṇo'bhūt
catvāriṁśatā trāyastriṁśatkāyikairdevaputrasahasraiḥ sārdham| catvāraśca
lokapālā viṁśatyā cāturmahārājakāyikairdevaputrasahasraiḥ sārdham|
brahmāpi sahāpatirdaśabhirbrahmakāyikairdevaputrasahasraiḥ sārdham|
pañca ca śuddhāvāsānāṁ devaputrāṇāṁ sahasrāṇi tasyāmeva parṣadi
saṁnipatitāni saṁniṣaṇṇānyabhūvan| yo'pi ca devānāṁ
svakarmavipākajo'vabhāsaḥ,
so'pi sarvo buddhānubhāvena buddhatejasā
buddhādhiṣṭhānenābhibhūto'bhūt||
atha khalu śakro
devānāmindra āyuṣmantaṁ subhūtiṁ sthavirametadavocat-imānyārya subhūte
saṁbahulāni devaputrasahasrāṇi asyāṁ parṣadi saṁnipatitāni saṁniṣaṇṇāni
āryasya subhūterantikātprajñāpāramitāṁ śrotukāmāni bodhisattvānāṁ
mahāsattvānāmupadeśamavavādānuśāsanīṁ ca| tatkathaṁ bodhisattvena
mahāsattvena prajñāpāramitāyāṁ sthātavyam,
kathaṁ śikṣitavyam,
kathaṁ yogamāpattavyam?
sthaviraḥ subhūtirāha-tena hi kauśika upadekṣyāmi te buddhānubhāvena
buddhatejasā buddhādhiṣṭhānena| yairdevaputrairanuttarāyāṁ
samyaksaṁbodhau cittaṁ notpāditam,
tairutpādayitavyam| ye tvavakrāntāḥ samyaktvaniyāmam,
na te bhavyā anuttarāyāṁ samyaksaṁbodhau cittamutpādayitum| tatkasya
hetoḥ? baddhasīmāno
hi te saṁsārasrotasaḥ| abhavyā hi te punaḥ punaḥ saṁsaraṇāya anuttarāyāṁ
samyaksaṁbodhau cittamutpādayitum| api nu khalu punasteṣāmapyanumode|
sacette'pyanuttarāyāṁ samyaksaṁbodhau cittānyutpādayeran,
nāhaṁ kuśalamūlasyāntarāyaṁ karomi| viśiṣṭebhyo hi dharmebhyo
viśiṣṭatamā dharmā adhyālambitavyāḥ||
atha khalu
bhagavānāyuṣmantaṁ subhūtimāmantrayate sma-sādhu sādhu subhūte,
sādhu khalu punastvaṁ subhūte,
yastvaṁ bodhisattvānāṁ mahāsattvānāmutsāhaṁ dadāsi| evamukte āyuṣmān
subhūtirbhagavantametadavocat-kṛtajñairasmābhirbhagavan bhagavato
bhavitavyaṁ nākṛtajñaiḥ| tatkasya hetoḥ?
paurvakāṇāṁ hi bhagavaṁstathāgatānāmarhatāṁ
samyaksaṁbuddhānāmantike'smadarthe bhagavān yathā brahmacaryaṁ bodhāya
caran pūrvaṁ bodhisattvabhūta eva san,
yaiḥ śrāvakairavavadito'nuśiṣṭaśca pāramitāsu,
tatra bhagavatā caratā anuttaraṁ jñānamutpāditam| evaṁ bhagavan
asmābhirapi bodhisattvā mahāsattvā anuparigrahītavyā
anuparivārayitavyāśca,
saṁparigrahītavyāḥ saṁparivārayitavyāśca| tatkasya hetoḥ?
asmābhirapi hi bhagavan bodhisattvā mahāsattvā anuparigṛhītā
anuparivāritāśca,
saṁparigṛhītāḥ saṁparivāritāśca kṣipramanuttarāṁ
samyaksaṁbodhimabhisaṁbudhyante||
atha khalvāyuṣmān subhūtiḥ
śakraṁ devānāmindramāmantrayate sma-tena hi kauśika śṛṇu,
sādhu ca suṣṭhu ca manasi kuru,
bhāṣiṣye'haṁ te yathā bodhisattvena mahāsattvena prajñāpāramitāyāṁ
sthātavyam| śūnyatāyāṁ kauśika tiṣṭhatā bodhisattvena mahāsattvena
prajñāpāramitāyāṁ sthātavyam| tena hi kauśika bodhisattvena mahāsattvena
mahāsaṁnāhasaṁnaddhena bhavitavyam| na rūpe sthātavyam| na vedanāyāṁ na
saṁjñāyāṁ na saṁskāreṣu| na vijñāne sthātavyam| na cakṣuṣi sthātavyam|
na rūpe sthātavyam| na cakṣurvijñāne sthātavyam| na cakṣuḥsaṁsparśe
sthātavyam| na cakṣuḥsaṁsparśajāyāṁ vedanāyāṁ sthātavyam| evaṁ na
śrotraghrāṇajihvākāyamanaḥsu sthātavyam| na
śabdagandharasaspraṣṭavyadharmeṣu,
na śrotravijñāne,
yāvanna manovijñāne| na manaḥsaṁsparśe,
na manaḥsaṁsparśajāyāṁ vedanāyāṁ sthātavyam| na pṛthivīdhātau
sthātavyam| nābdhātau,
na tejodhātau, na
vāyudhātau,
nākāśadhātau, na
vijñānadhātau sthātavyam| na smṛtyupasthāneṣu sthātavyam| na
samyakprahāṇarddhipādendriyabalabodhyaṅgeṣu,
na mārgāṅgeṣu sthātavyam| na srotaāpattiphale sthātavyam| na
sakṛdāgāmiphale, na
anāgāmiphale,
nārhattve sthātavyam| na pratyekabuddhatve sthātavyam| na buddhatve
sthātavyam| iti hi rūpamiti na sthātavyam| iti hi vedaneti,
saṁjñeti, saṁskārā
iti| iti hi vijñānamiti na sthātavyam| iti hi cakṣuriti,
yāvanmanaḥsaṁsparśajā vedaneti na sthātavyam| iti hi pṛthivīdhāturiti,
yāvadvijñānadhāturiti na sthātavyam| iti hi smṛtyupasthānānīti na
sthātavyam| iti hi samyakprahāṇarddhipādendriyabalabodhyaṅgānīti,
iti hi mārgāṅgānīti na sthātavyam| iti hi srotaāpattiphalamiti na
sthātavyam, iti hi
sakṛdāgāmiphalamiti,
anāgāmiphalamiti,
arhattvamiti na sthātavyam| iti hi pratyekabuddhatvamiti na sthātavyam|
iti hi buddhatvamiti na sthātavyam| rūpaṁ nityamanityamiti na
sthātavyam| evaṁ vedanāsaṁjñāsaṁskārāḥ| vijñānaṁ nityamanityamiti na
sthātavyam | rūpaṁ sukhaṁ duḥkhamiti na sthātavyam | evaṁ
vedanāsaṁjñāsaṁskārāḥ| vijñānaṁ sukhaṁ duḥkhamiti na sthātavyam| rūpaṁ
śūnyamaśūnyamiti na sthātavyam| evaṁ vedanāsaṁjñāsaṁskārāḥ| vijñānaṁ
śūnyamaśūnyamiti na sthātavyam| rūpamātmānātmeti na sthātavyam| evaṁ
vedanāsaṁjñāsaṁskārāḥ| vijñānamātmānātmeti na sthātavyam| rūpaṁ
śubhamaśubhamiti na sthātavyam| evaṁ vedanāsaṁjñāsaṁskārāḥ| vijñānaṁ
śubhamaśubhamiti na sthātavyam| rūpaṁ śūnyamupalabhyate veti na
sthātavyam| evaṁ vedanāsaṁjñāsaṁskārāḥ | vijñānaṁ śūnyamupalabhyate veti
na sthātavyam| srotaāpattiphalamasaṁskṛtaprabhāvitamiti na sthātavyam|
evaṁ sakṛdāgāmiphalamanāgāmiphalamarhattvamasaṁskṛtaprabhāvitamiti na
sthātavyam| pratyekabuddhatvamasaṁskṛtaprabhāvitamiti na sthātavyam|
srotaāpanno dakṣiṇīya iti na sthātavyam| srotaāpannāḥ saptakṛto
bhavaparamā iti na sthātavyam| sakṛdāgāmī dakṣiṇīya iti na sthātavyam|
sakṛdāgāmyapariniṣṭhitattvātsakṛdimaṁ lokamāgamya duḥkhasyāntaṁ
kariṣyatīti na sthātavyam| anāgāmī dakṣiṇīya iti na sthātavyam anāgāmī
anāgamya imaṁ lokaṁ tatraiva parinirvāsyatīti na sthātavyam| arhan
dakṣiṇīya iti na sthātavyam| arhannihaiva anupadhiśeṣe nirvāṇadhātau
parinirvāsyatīti na sthātavyam| pratyekabuddho dakṣiṇīya iti na
sthātavyam| pratyekabuddho'tikramya śrāvakabhūmimaprāpya buddhabhūmiṁ
parinirvāsyatīti na sthātavyam| buddho dakṣiṇīya iti na sthātavyam|
buddho'tikramya pṛthagjanabhūmimatikramya śrāvakabhūmimatikramya
pratyekabuddhabhūmimaprabheyāṇāmasaṁkhyeyānāṁ sattvānāmarthaṁ kṛtvā
aprameyāṇyasaṁkhyeyāni sattvakoṭīniyutaśatasahasrāṇi parinirvāpya
aprameyānasaṁkhyeyān sattvān
śrāvakapratyekabuddhasamyaksaṁbuddhatvaniyatān kṛtvā buddhabhūmau
sthitvā buddhakṛtyaṁ kṛtvā anupadhiśeṣe nirvāṇadhātau
buddhaparinirvāṇena parinirvāsyati ityevamapyanena na sthātavyam||
atha khalvāyuṣmataḥ
śāriputrasyaitadabhavat-yadi buddho'tikramya pṛthagjanabhūmimatikramya
śrāvakabhūmimatikramya pratyekabuddhabhūmimaprameyāṇāmasaṁkhyeyānāṁ
sattvānāmarthaṁ kṛtvā aprameyāṇyasaṁkhyeyāni
sattvakoṭīniyutaśatasahasrāṇi parinirvāpya aprameyānasaṁkhyeyān sattvān
śrāvakapratyekabuddhasamyaksaṁbuddhatvaniyatān kṛtvā buddhabhūmau
sthitvā buddhakṛtyaṁ kṛtvā anupadhiśeṣe nirvāṇadhātau
buddhaparinirvāṇena parinirvāsyati ityevamapyanena na sthātavyam,
tatkathaṁ punaranena sthātavyaṁ,
kathaṁ śikṣitavyamiti?
atha khalvāyuṣmān subhūtirbuddhānubhāvena āyuṣmataḥ śāriputrasya
cetasaiva cetaḥparivitarkamājñāya āyuṣmantaṁ śāriputrametadavocat-tatkiṁ
manyase āyuṣman śāriputra kva tathāgato'rhan samyaksaṁbuddhaḥ sthitaḥ?
āyuṣmān śāriputra āha-na kvacidāyuṣman subhūte tathāgato'rhan
samyaksaṁbuddhaḥ sthitaḥ| tatkasya heto?
apratiṣṭhitamānaso hi tathāgato'rhan samyaksaṁbuddhaḥ| sa naiva saṁskṛte
dhātau sthito nāpyasaṁskṛte dhātau sthito na ca tato vyutthitaḥ||
atha khalvāyuṣmān
subhūtirāyuṣmantaṁ śāriputrametadavocat-evameva āyuṣman śāriputra
bodhisattvena mahāsattvena sthātavyam,
evaṁ śikṣitavyam-yathā tathāgato'rhan samyaksaṁbuddho na kvacitsthito
nāsthito na viṣṭhito nāviṣṭhitaḥ,
tathā sthāsyāmītyevamanena śikṣitavyam| yathā tathāgatasthānaṁ tathā
sthāsyāmīti, tathā
śikṣiṣye iti, yathā
tathāgatasthānaṁ tathā sthāsyāmīti,
tathā śikṣiṣye iti,
yathā tathāgatasthānaṁ tathā sthāsyāmīti susthito'sthānayogeneti
evamatra bodhisattvena mahāsattvena sthātavyamevaṁ śikṣitavyam| evaṁ hi
śikṣamāṇo bodhisattvo mahāsattvo viharatyanena prajñāpāramitāvihāreṇa
avirahitaścānena manasikāreṇeti||
atha khalu tatra parṣadi
keṣāṁciddevaputrāṇāmetadabhūt-yāni tāni yakṣāṇāṁ yakṣabhāṣitāni
yakṣarutāni yakṣapadāni yakṣamantritāni yakṣapravyāhṛtāni,
tāni vijñāyante jalpyamānāni| na punaridaṁ vijñāyate yatsubhūtiḥ
sthaviro bhāṣate pravyāharati deśayatyupadiśati| atha khalvāyuṣmān
subhūtirbuddhānubhāvena teṣāṁ devaputrāṇāmimamevaṁrūpaṁ cetasaiva
cetaḥparivitarkamājñāya tān devaputrānāmantrayate sma-na vijñāyate na
vijñāyate idaṁ devaputrāḥ| tathā hi nātra kiṁcitsūcyate,
nātra kiṁcit śrūyate||
atha khalu teṣāṁ
devaputrāṇāṁ punarevaitadabhūt-uttānīkariṣyati bata ayamāryasubhūtiḥ|
uttānīkariṣyati batāyamāryasubhūtiriti| dūrāddūrataramāryasubhūtiḥ
praviśati,
sūkṣmātsūkṣmataram| gambhīrādgambhīrataramāryasubhūtiḥ praviśati
deśayati bhāṣata iti| atha khalvāyuṣmān subhūtirbuddhānubhāvena punarapi
teṣāmeva devaputrāṇāṁ cetasaiva cetaḥparivitarkamājñāya tān
devaputrānāmantrayate sma-tena hi devaputrāḥ yaḥ srotaāpattiphalaṁ
prāptukāmaḥ srotaāpattiphale sthātukāmaḥ,
sa nemāṁ kṣāntimanāgamya....peyālam|
yaḥ sakṛdāgābhiphalaṁ prāptukāmaḥ,
sakṛdāgāmiphale sthātukāmaḥ,
yo'nāgāmiphalaṁ prāptukāmo'nāgāmiphale sthātukāmaḥ,
yo'rhattvaṁ prāptukāmo'rhattve sthātukāmaḥ,
yaḥ pratyekabodhiṁ prāptukāmaḥ pratyekabodhau sthātukāmaḥ,
sa nemāṁ kṣāntimanāgamya.....|
yo'nuttarāṁ samyaksaṁbodhiṁ prāptukāmo'nuttarāyāṁ samyaksaṁbodhau
sthātukāmaḥ, sa nemāṁ
kṣāntimanāgamya.............||
atha khalu punarapi teṣāṁ
devaputrāṇāmetadabhavat-kiṁrūpā asya āryasubhūterdhārmaśravaṇikā
eṣṭavyāḥ? atha
khalvāyuṣmān subhūtirbuddhānubhāvena teṣāṁ devaputrāṇāṁ cetasaiva
cetaḥparivitarkamājñāya tān devaputrānāmantrayate sma-māyānirmitasadṛśā
hi devaputrā mama dhārmaśravaṇikā eṣṭavyāḥ| tatkasya hetoḥ?
tathā hi te naiva śroṣyanti na ca sākṣātkariṣyanti||
atha khalu te devaputrā
āyuṣmantaṁ subhūtimetadavocan-kiṁ punarārya subhūte māyopamāste sattvā
na te māyā? evamukte
āyuṣmān subhūtistān devaputrānetadavocat-māyopamāste devaputrāḥ sattvāḥ|
svapnopamāste devaputrāḥ sattvāḥ| iti hi māyā ca sattvāśca
advayametadadvaidhīkāram,
iti hi svapnaśca sattvāśca advayametadadvaidhīkāram| sarvadharmā api
devaputrā māyopamāḥ svapnopamāḥ| srotaāpanno'pi māyopamaḥ svapnopamaḥ|
srotaāpattiphalamapi māyopamaṁ svapnopamam| evaṁ sakṛdāgāmyapi
sakṛdāgāmiphalamapi,
anāgāmyapi anāgāmiphalamapi,
arhannapi arhattvamapi māyopamaṁ svapnopamam| pratyekabuddho'pi
māyopamaḥ svapnopamaḥ| pratyekabuddhatvamapi māyopamaṁ svapnopamam|
samyaksaṁbuddho'pi māyopamaḥ svapnopamaḥ| samyaksaṁbuddhatvamapi
māyopamaṁ svapnopamam| atha khalu devaputrā āyuṣmantaṁ
subhūtimetadavocan-samyaksaṁbuddho'pyārya subhūte māyopamaḥ svapnopama
iti vadasi?
samyaksaṁbuddhatvapi māyopamaṁ svapnopamamiti vadasi?
subhūtirāha-nirvāṇamapi devaputrā māyopamaṁ svapnopamamiti vadāmi,
kiṁ punaranyaṁ dharmam| te devaputrā āhuḥ-nirvāṇamapyārya subhūte
māyopamaṁ svapnopamamiti vadasi?
āyuṣmān subhūtirāha-tadyadi devaputrā nirvāṇādapyanyaḥ kaściddharmo
viśiṣṭataraḥ syāt,
tamapyahaṁ māyopamaṁ svapnopamamiti vadeyam| iti hi devaputrā māyā ca
nirvāṇaṁ ca advayametadadvaidhīkāram| iti hi svapnaśca nirvāṇaṁ ca
advayametadadvaidhīkāram||
atha khalvāyuṣmān śāriputraḥ,
āyuṣmāṁśca pūrṇo maitrāyaṇīputraḥ,
āyuṣmāṁśca mahākoṣṭhilaḥ,
āyuṣmāṁśca mahākātyāyanaḥ,
āyuṣmāṁśca mahākāśapaḥ,
anye ca mahāśrāvakā anekairbodhisattvasahasraiḥ sārdhamāyuṣmantaṁ
subhūtiṁ sthaviramāmantrayante sma-ke'syā āyuṣman subhūte
prajñāpāramitāyā evaṁ nirdiśyamānāyāḥ pratyeṣakā bhaviṣyanti?
atha khalvāyuṣmānānandastān sthavirānetadavocat-te khalvāyuṣmanto
veditavyā avinivartanīyā bodhisattvā mahāsattvāḥ,
dṛṣṭisaṁpannā vā pudgalāḥ,
arhanto vā kṣīṇāsravāḥ,
ye'syāḥ prajñāpāramitāyā evaṁ nirdiśyamānāyāḥ pratyeṣakā bhaviṣyanti||
atha khalvāyuṣmān subhūtiḥ
sthavirastān sthavirānetadavocat-nāsyā āyuṣmantaḥ prajñāpāramitāyā evaṁ
nirdiśyamānāyāḥ kecitpratyeṣakā bhaviṣyanti| tatkasya hetoḥ?
tathā hi-atra na kaściddharmaḥ sūcyate,
na kaściddharmaḥ paridīpyate,
na kaściddharmaḥ prajñapyate| tadyathaivātra na kaściddharmaḥ sūcyate,
na kaściddharmaḥ paridīpyate,
na kaściddharmaḥ prajñapyate,
tathaivāsyāḥ prajñāpāramitāyā evaṁ nirdiśyamānāyā na kaścitpratyeṣako
bhaviṣyati||
atha khalu śakrasya
devānāmindrasyaitadabhūt- asya dharmaparyāyasya āryeṇa subhūnitā
bhāṣyamāṇasya pūjārthaṁ yannvahaṁ puṣpāṇyabhinirmāya āryaṁ
subhūtimabhyavakireyamiti| atha khalu śakro devānāmindrastasyāṁ velāyāṁ
puṣpāṇyabhinirmāya āyuṣmantaṁ subhūtimabhyavākirat| atha khalvāyuṣmataḥ
subhūteḥ sthavirasya śakraṁ devānāmindramanuvyāharaṇāyaitadabhūt-na
khalu punarimāni puṣpāṇi mayā trāyastriṁśeṣu deveṣu pracaranti
dṛṣṭapūrvāṇi,
yānīmāni śakreṇa devānāmindreṇa abhyavakīrṇāni| nirmitānyetāni puṣpāṇi|
naitāni puṣpāṇi vṛkṣagulmalatānirjātāni,
yāni śakreṇa devānāmindreṇābhyavakīrṇāni,
manomayānyetāni puṣpāṇīti| atha khalu śakro devānāmindra āyuṣmataḥ
subhūteścetasaiva cetaḥparivitarkamājñāya āyuṣmantaṁ
subhūtimetadavocat-anirjātānyetānyārya subhūte puṣpāṇi| tatkasya hetoḥ?
na hi manonirjātāni kānicitpuṣpāṇi,
nāpi vṛkṣagulmalatānirjātāni| atha khalvāyuṣmān subhūtiḥ śakraṁ
devānāmindrametadavocat-yattvaṁ kauśika evaṁ vadasi-anirjātānyetāni
puṣpāṇi, naitāni
manonirjātāni, nāpi
vṛkṣagulmalatānirjātānīti| yatkauśika anirjātaṁ na tatpuṣpam| atha khalu
śakrasya devānāmindrasyaitadabhūt-gambhīraprajño batāyamāryaḥ subhūtiḥ|
tāṁ ca nāma padaprajñaptiṁ nirdiśati,
tāṁ ca na virodhayati,
tāṁ cottānīkaroti,
tāmeva copadiśati| atha khalu śakro devānāmindra āyuṣmataṁ
subhūtimetadavocat-evametadārya subhūte,
evametat| evaṁ cātra bodhisattvena mahāsattvena śikṣitavyaṁ yathā
āryasubhūtirupadiśati| evamukte āyuṣmān subhūtiḥ śakraṁ
devānāmindrametadavocat-evametatkauśika,
evametat| evamatra bodhisattvena mahāsattvena śikṣitavyam| evaṁ
śikṣamāṇaḥ kauśika bodhisattvo mahāsattvo na srotaāpattiphale śikṣate,
na sakṛdāgāmiphale,
na anāgāmiphale,
nāhartve śikṣate, na
pratyekabuddhatve śikṣate,
na buddhatve śikṣate| yo nāsu bhūmiṣu śikṣate,
sa buddhatve sarvajñatve vā śikṣate| yo buddhatve sarvajñatve vā śikṣate,
so'prameyeṣvasaṁkhyeyeṣu buddhadharmeṣu śikṣate|
yo'prameyeṣvasaṁkhyeyeṣu buddhadharmeṣu śikṣate,
sa na rūpasya vivṛddhaye śikṣate,
na parihāṇāya| evaṁ sa na vedanāyā na saṁjñāyā na saṁskārāṇām| sa na
vijñānasya vivṛddhaye śikṣate,
na parihāṇāya| yo na rūpasya vivṛddhaye śikṣate na parihāṇāya| evaṁ na
vedanāyā na saṁjñāyā na saṁskārāṇām| yo na vijñānasya vivṛddhaye śikṣate
na parihāṇāya, sa na
rūpasya parigrahāya śikṣate notsargāya| evaṁ sa na vedanāyā na saṁjñāyā
na saṁskārāṇām| sa na vijñānasya parigrahāya śikṣate,
notsargāya, nāpi
kasyaciddharmasya parigrahāya śikṣate,
notpādāya nāntardhānāya śikṣate| yo na kasyaciddharmasya parigrahāya
śikṣate, notpādāya
nāntardhānāya śikṣate,
sa na sarvajñatāyā api parigrahāya śikṣate,
notpādāya nāntardhānāya śikṣate| evaṁ śikṣamāṇo bodhisattvo mahāsattvaḥ
sarvajñatāyāṁ śikṣate,
sarvajñatāyāṁ niryāsyati||
atha khalvāyuṣmān śāriputra
āyuṣmantaṁ subhūtimetadavocat-ya āyuṣman subhūte bodhisattvo mahāsattvo
na kasyaciddharmasya parigrahāya śikṣate,
notpādāya nāntardhānāsya śikṣate,
sa na sarvajñatāyā api parigrahāya śikṣate,
notpādāya nāntardhānāya śikṣate| evaṁ śikṣamāṇa āyuṣmān subhūte
bodhisattvo mahāsattvaḥ sarvajñatāyāṁ śikṣate,
sarvajñatāyāṁ niryāsyati||
āyuṣmān
subhūtirāha-evametadāyuṣman śāriputra,
evametat| ya āyuṣman śāriputra bodhisattvo mahāsattvo na
kasyaciddharmasya parigrahāya śikṣate,
notpādāya nāntardhānāya śikṣate,
sa na sarvajñatāyā api parigrahāya śikṣate,
notpādāya nāntardhānāya śikṣate| sarvabuddhadharmāṇāmapi na parigrahāya
śikṣate, notpādāya
nāntardhānāya śikṣate| evaṁ cāyuṣman śāriputra śikṣamāṇo bodhisattvo
mahāsattvaḥ sarvajñatāyāṁ śikṣate,
sarvajñatāyāṁ niryāsyati||
atha khalu śakro
devānāmindra āyuṣmantaṁ śāriputrametadavocat-prajñāpāramitā ārya
śāriputra bodhisattvena mahāsattvena kuto gaveṣitavyāḥ?
śāriputra āha-prajñāpāramitā kauśika bodhisattvena mahāsattvena
āyuṣmataḥ subhūteḥ parivartādgaveṣitavyā| evamukte śakro devānāmindra
āyuṣmantaṁ śāriputrametadavocat-kasyaiṣa ārya śāriputra anubhāvo
veditavyaḥ?
kasyaitadadhiṣṭhānaṁ veditavyaṁ yadāryasubhūtiḥ prajñāpāramitāṁ bhāṣate?
āyuṣmān śāriputra āha-tathāgatasyaiṣa kauśika anubhāvo veditavyaḥ|
tathāgatasyaitadadhiṣṭhānaṁ veditavyaṁ yadāyuṣmān subhūtiḥ
prajñāpāramitāṁ bhāṣate| atha khalvāyuṣmān subhūtiḥ śakraṁ
devānāmindrametadavocat-yatkauśika evaṁ vadasi-kasyaiṣo'nubhāvo
veditavyaḥ,
kasyaitadanuṣṭhānaṁ veditavyaṁ yadāryasubhūtiḥ prajñāpāramitāṁ bhāṣate
iti ?
tathāgatasyaiṣa kauśika anubhāvo veditavyaḥ| tathāgatasyaitadadhiṣṭhānaṁ
veditavyaṁ yadahaṁ prajñāpāramitāṁ bhāṣe| yadapi kauśika evaṁ
vadasi-prajñāpāramitā bodhisattvena mahāsattvena kuto gaveṣitavyeti?
prajñāpāramitā kauśika bodhisattvena mahāsattvena na rūpādgaveṣitavyā
nāpyanyatra rūpādgaveṣitavyā| evaṁ na vedanāyā na saṁjñāyā na
saṁskārebhyaḥ na vijñānādgaveṣitavyāḥ,
nāpyanyatra vijñānādgaveṣitavyā| tatkasya hetoḥ?
tathā hi na rūpaṁ prajñāpāramitā,
nāpyanyatra rūpātprajñāpāramitā| evaṁ na vedanā na saṁjñā na saṁskārāḥ|
na vijñānaṁ prajñāpāramitā,
nāpyanyatra vijñānātprajñāpāramitā||
evamukte śakro devānāmindra
āyuṣmantaṁ subhūtimetadavocat-mahāpāramiteyamārya subhūte yaduta
prajñāpāramitā| apramāṇapāramiteyamārya subhūte yaduta prajñāpāramitā|
aparimāṇapāramiteyamārya subhūte yaduta prajñāpāramitā|
anantapāramiteyamārya subhūte yaduta prajñāpāramitā| sthaviraḥ
subhūtirāha-evametatkauśika,
evametat| mahāpāramiteyaṁ kauśika yaduta prajñāpāramitā|
apramāṇapāramiteyaṁ kauśika yaduta prajñāpāramitā| aparimāṇapāramiteyaṁ
kauśika yaduta prajñāpāramitā| anantapāramiteyaṁ kauśika yaduta
prajñāpāramitā| tatkasya hetoḥ?
rūpamahattayā hi kauśika mahāpāramiteyaṁ yaduta prajñāpāramitā| evaṁ
vedanāsaṁjñāsaṁskārāḥ| vijñānamahattayā hi kauśikamahāpāramiteyaṁ yaduta
prajñāpāramitā| rūpāpramāṇatayā kauśika apramāṇapāramiteyaṁ yaduta
prajñāpāramitā| evaṁ vedanāsaṁjñāsaṁskārāḥ| vijñānāpramāṇatayā kauśika
apramāṇapāramiteyaṁ yaduta prajñapāramitā| rūpāparimāṇatayā kauśika
aparimāṇapāramiteyaṁ yaduta prajñāpāramitā| evaṁ vedanāsaṁjñāsaṁskārāḥ|
vijñānāparimāṇatayā kauśika aparimāṇapāramiteyaṁ yaduta prajñapāramitā|
rūpānantatayā kauśika anantapāramiteyaṁ yaduta prajñāpāramitā| evaṁ
vedanāsaṁjñāsaṁskārāḥ| vijñānānantatayā kauśika anantapāramiteyaṁ yaduta
prajñāpāramitā| evaṁ mahāpāramiteti kauśika nābhiniviśate|
evamapramāṇapāramiteti,
evamaparimāṇapāramiteti,
evamanantapāramiteti nābhiniviśate| tasmātkauśika mahāpāramiteyam,
apramāṇapāramiteyam,
aparimāṇapāramiteyam,
anantapāramiteyaṁ yaduta prajñāpāramitā||
ārambaṇānantatayā kauśika
anantapāramiteyaṁ yaduta prajñāpāramitā| sattvānantatayā kauśika
anantapāramiteyaṁ yaduta prajñāpāramitā| kathaṁ punaḥ kauśika
ārambaṇānantatayā anantapāramiteyaṁ yaduta prajñāpāramitā?
sarvadharmāṇāṁ hi kauśika yato nānto na madhyaṁ na
paryavasānamupalabhyate,
tataḥ kauśika anantapāramiteyaṁ yaduta prajñāpāramitā| anena kauśika
paryāyeṇa ārambaṇānantatayā anantapāramiteyaṁ yaduta prajñāpāramitā|
punaraparaṁ kauśika yasmātsarvadharmā anantā aparyantāḥ,
na teṣāmanto vā madhyaṁ vā paryavasānaṁ vā upalabhyate,
tasmātkauśika anantapāramiteyaṁ yaduta prajñāpāramitā| tatkasya hetoḥ?
rūpasya hi kauśika nānto na madhyaṁ na paryavasānamupalabhyate| evaṁ
vedanāyāḥ saṁjñāyāḥ saṁskārāṇām| vijñānasya hi kauśika nānto na madhyaṁ
na paryavasānamupalabhyate| anenāpi kauśika paryāyeṇa ārambaṇānantatayā
anantapāramiteyaṁ yaduta prajñāpāramitā||
punaraparaṁ kauśika
sattvo'nanto'paryantaḥ| tatkasya hetoḥ?
na hi sattvasyānto vā madhyaṁ vā paryavasānaṁ vopalabhyate|
tasmātkauśika sattvānantatayā anantapāramiteyaṁ yaduta prajñāpāramitā|
atha khalu śakro devānāmindra āyuṣmantaṁ
subhūtimetadavocat-kathamāyuṣman subhūte sattvānantatayā
anantapāramiteyaṁ yaduta prajñāpāramitā?
sthaviraḥ subhūtirāha-na hi kauśika gaṇanāyogena vā gaṇanābahutvena vā
sattvānantatayā anantapāramiteyaṁ yaduta prajñāpāramitā||
śakra āha-kathaṁ
tarhīdānīmārya subhūte sattvānantatayā anantapāramiteyaṁ yaduta
prajñāpāramitā?
sthaviraḥ subhūtirāha-tatkaṁ manyase kauśika
katamasyaitaddharmasyādhivacanaṁ yaduta sattvaḥ sattva iti?
śakra āha-naitadārya subhūte dharmasyādhivacanaṁ na adharmādhivacanaṁ
yaduta sattvaḥ sattva iti| āgantukametannāmadheyaṁ prakṣiptam|
avastukametannāmadheyaṁ prakṣiptam| anātmīyametannāmadheyaṁ prakṣiptam|
anārambaṇametannāmadheyaṁ prakṣiptaṁ yaduta sattvaḥ sattva iti|
sthaviraḥ subhūtirāha-tatkiṁ manyase kauśika kācidatra sattvaparidīpanā
kṛtā ? śakra āha-no
hīdamārya subhūte| subhūtirāha-yatra kauśika na kācitsattvaparidīpanā
kṛtā, tatra kā
sattvānantatā?
sacetkauśika tathāgato'rhan samyaksaṁbuddho'nantavijñaptighoṣeṇa
gambhīranirghoṣeṇa svareṇa gaṅgānadīvālukopamān kalpānapi vitiṣṭhamānaḥ
sattvaḥ sattva iti vācaṁ bhāṣeta,
api nu tatra kaścitsattva utpanno va utpatsyate vā utpadyate vā,
niruddho vā nirotsyate vā nirudhyate vā?
śakra āha-no hīdamārya subhūte| tatkasya hetoḥ?
ādiśuddhatvādādipariśuddhatvātsattvasya| subhūtirāha-anenāpi kauśika
paryāyeṇa evaṁ sattvānantatayā anantapāramiteyaṁ yaduta prajñāpāramitā|
evaṁ ca punaḥ kauśika sattvānantatayā prajñāpāramitānantatā veditavyā||
atha khalu sendrakā devāḥ
sabrahmakāḥ saprajāpatikāḥ sarṣinaranārīgaṇāstrirudānamudānayanti
sma-aho dharmaḥ, aho
dharmaḥ, aho
dharmasya dharmatā| yastathāgatasya prādurbhāvaḥ,
sa āryeṇa subhūtinā sthavireṇa subhāṣiteneha sūcyate deśyate prakāśyate
prabhāvyate| tathāgataṁ taṁ vayaṁ bhagavan bodhisattvaṁ
mahāsattvamadyāgreṇa dhārayiṣyāmo yo'nayā prajñāpāramitayā avirahito
bhaviṣyati, yo'pi ca
anena bodhisattvo mahāsattvaḥ prajñāpāramitāvihāreṇa vihariṣyati||
atha khalu bhagavāṁstān
sendrakān sabrahmakān saprajāpatikān sarṣinaranārīgaṇānāmantrayate
sma-evametaddevaputrāḥ,
evametat| yadāhaṁ devaputrā dīpaṁkarasya tathāgatasyārhataḥ
samyaksaṁbuddhasyāntike dīpavatyāṁ rājadhānyāmantarāyaṇamadhyagato'nayā
prajñāpāramitayā avirahito'bhūvam,
tadāhaṁ dīpaṁkareṇa tathāgatenārhatāṁ samyaksaṁbuddhena
vyākṛto'nuttarāyāṁ samyaksaṁbodhau-bhaviṣyasi tvaṁ māṇava anāgate'dhvani
asaṁkhyeyaiḥ kalpaiḥ śākyamunirnāma tathāgato'rhan samyaksaṁbuddho
vidyācaraṇasaṁpannaḥ sugato lokavidanuttaraḥ puruṣadamyasārathiḥ śāstā
devānāṁ ca manuṣyānāṁ ca buddho bhagavāniti| atha khalu te devaputrā
bhagavantametadavocan-āścaryaṁ bhagavan,
paramāścaryaṁ sugata| yāvadiyaṁ prajñāpāramitā bodhisattvānāṁ
mahāsattvānāṁ sarvajñatāyā āhārikā anuparigrāhikā ceti||
