University of the West requires all international students to have supplemental U.S. health insurance. This will help to cover the cost of care, especially in emergency situations where hospitalization may be required. Insurance coverage must be continuous and include breaks and summers as well as academic semesters. The registration process cannot be completed until the student satisfies the health insurance requirement. The cost of insurance is included in the cost of attendance. International students must purchase insurance for a minimum of four months per semester; students attending the summer semester must purchase a minimum of three months of coverage. ESL students must purchase insurance coverage during their study at UWEST. Information about and enrollment forms for the plan offered by UWest are available at the Student Life Office.
