William Chu earned his Ph.D. in Buddhist Studies from UCLA, where he was also a lecturer and teaching fellow. He is currently working on two books: “A Buddha-Shaped Hole: Yinshin’s (1906-2005) Critical Buddhology and the Theological Crisis in Modern Chinese Buddhism” and “A Godless Alternative: Buddhist Nontheism.” He was also an editor “A Comprehensive Buddhist Dictionary,” adding more than 300 entries. Professor Chu also serves as a Buddhist chaplain for the Sangha Council of California.
He is also co-founder of the multimedia Fa Yin Buddhist Library at Fa Yin Temple in Rosemead.
