Amy Demyan serves as the coordinator of the Psychology Programs at the University of the West where she drives UWest’s unique BA & MA programs, developed from empirical research, yet steeped in Buddhist wisdom.
Dr. Demyan received her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from Ohio University in Athens Ohio, where she also earned her MS in the same field. She completed her American Psychological Association doctoral internship at California State University, Long Beach. Additionally, Dr. Demyan earned her MA, with a Marriage and Family Therapy (MFT) emphasis, in Counseling Psychology from Santa Clara University in Santa Clara, California.
Dr. Demyan has published and presented her research within the scientific community and also edits the advice website, amyknowsbest.com. Furthermore, she has been featured on the Spike Television Network as a psychology research expert.
Her research interests focus on clinical practice, mindfulness, preventative psychoeducation, and mass-media communication.
