Kris Hoover teaches English composition courses in UWest’s General Education and English programs. Originally from the San Francisco Bay Area, he received his B.A. in English from Whitworth College in Spokane, Washington. After teaching English at the university level in Thailand for a year, he returned to California to obtain his teaching certificate from California State University at Hayward and then his M.A. degree in Applied Linguistics from California State University at Long Beach. Mr. Hoover spent the next 28 years teaching ESL at the International School Bangkok in Thailand.
He and his wife recently returned to the U.S. to be able to spend more time with their two children who have settled in the Los Angeles area.
