University of the West is proud to announce a full roster of events during 2011 designed to build and improve upon its informal partnership with Montebello Unified School District.
MUSD teachers and administrators will be on the UWest campus more than 20 times during the year for various training events, colloquiums, seminars and conferences. Other events will also bring hundreds of high school and middle school students onto the UWest campus to experience a day of fun and college guidance.
"We see our partnership with MUSD as an invaluable way to introduce University of the West to the students in our community," said Jason Kosareff, a UWest enrollment counselor. "Montebello students are getting excellent preparation for college, so we are excited to be able to reach out to them."
UWest has already established scholarships for students entering the university during their freshman year from Schurr High School, the MUSD high school campus that is closest to UWest. Many of Schurr's students live in the neighborhoods west and south of the university.
On January 27, the district's top officials, plus executive leadership from each of the MUSD campuses will be at UWest for a major daylong event. We wish everyone from MUSD a wonderful time on the UWest campus.
