|Konnichi wa, Dr. Brown: UWest hires new Student Success Center Coordinator|

ROSEMEAD, Calif. – Sept. 17, 2010 – University of the West welcomed Keith Brown, Ed.D., on Wednesday, Sept. 29, as the new coordinator of the Student Success Center on campus.
Dr. Brown has more than 20 years of experience teaching English, English as a Second Language and English as a Foreign Language. His last position was as a Learning Assistant Specialist at Pacific Oaks College in Pasadena, Calif. His background also includes more than a decade of teaching in Japan. He is also fluent in Japanese.
His rich experiences prepare him perfectly for coordinating UWest’s Student Success Center, which provides academic and career support to University of the West students.
Dr. Brown earned his Ed.D. in Educational Leadership and Change from Fielding Graduate University in 2004. He has an M.A. in Humanities with a focus on EFL/ESL Teaching. He also carries certificates in TESOL teaching and Learning Community and Facilitator Development, plus International Tutoring Association Certification.
Outside of preparing students for academic success, Dr. Brown is also an accomplished semi-professional musician. Dr. Brown grew up in the Washington, D.C., area and currently lives in Sierra Madre.
