|Humanistic Buddhism & Leadership (HBL) Online Certificate Program|
ABOUT THE CERTIFICATE PROGRAM
The online certificate program was created by the Institute of Chinese Buddhist Studies (ICBS) at University of the West (UWest), and leading Buddhist scholars such as UWest’s own Drs.Lewis Lancaster, Venerable Jue Ji, and Darui Long; as well as other Buddhist and religious studies scholars such as Dr. Richard Rose (University of La Verne), Dr. Jiang Wu (University of Arizona), and many others.
Each course is comprised of 8 approximately one-hour lectures. Some lectures have audio embedded in the slide presentations while other lectures use video and slides separately.
Each online class is worth 1.2 Continuing Education Units (CEU) using the CEU formula of 10 contact hours = 1 CEU credit. Those who want to transfer CEU credits to other colleges and universities must check with the Registrar for these institution to find out what their transfer-credit policies are.
A Certificate of Completion will be issued after each class has been successfully completed by either taking an exam or writing a short paper on a topic chosen by the student discussed in each online classes.
