|UWest VITA Program Calls for Participants|
|Thursday, November 17, 2011|
Given the great success of the past four years’ Volunteers for Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program, University of the West (UWest) has decided to continue its participation in this valuable service program.
In this program, volunteers will help local residents file 2011 Federal Income Tax Returns as well as California State Income Tax Returns.
All people are very welcome to be volunteers of the program. Some knowledge in accounting/taxes is helpful, but not necessary. Services will be offered to the eligible residents on and off campus through e-filing from the end of January until mid-April, 2012. The participants/volunteers can pick up their available dates/time to offer help (not necessary every week or every time).
All volunteers will be trained and certified before offering services. We plan to offer training sessions in early January 2012 and certify all participants by mid-January 2012.
Please reply back by Dec. 16, 2011.
Yes, I want to participate in this VITA program.
