|UWest Provides Free Tax Filing Services to Local Residents and Small Business Owners|
|Wednesday, January 18, 2012|
The Department of Business Administration at University of the West has again partnered with the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) to participate in the Volunteers for Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program. In this program, volunteers from UWest will help local residents file their 2011 Individual Federal Income Tax Returns as well as CA State Tax Returns. All volunteers are required to pass the IRS's relevant tests before they can offer the services, and they will also be supervised by UWest professors.
University of the West has participated in this VITA program in the past four years; and last year the program helped more than 400 people file their federal and CA State individual tax returns.
The free tax filing services will start from Feb. 2, 2012 and be available during the following dates/time:
Thursdays, 9am-12pm, except March 22;
For any questions, please contact Dr. Bill Chen at (626) 571-88111, ext. 125.
UWest is located at 1409 N. Walnut Grove Ave. Rosemead, CA 91770.
