Dr. Philip Borden will give a guest lecture to Professor Meskerem Tadesse’s class on Tuesday, October 23, 7:00-8:30pm, on “Intellectual Property as a Strategic Asset: Optimizing its Value For Your Company.” He will talk about the types and uses of the various forms of IP, how to protect it, and how to use it to spur company growth and outside investment.
Dr. Borden heads Essergy Consulting, a group of 25 senior business advisors. He had been the CEO of Active Capital and Chief of Party for a Department of State private sector economic development initiative in Iraq. Dr. Borden is a serial entrepreneur and has led several nonprofits. He has lectured on four continents, and published or presented over 100 papers in academic and popular journals. He was educated in the United States and Oxford and is a former professor at UCLA and USC.
The seminar is organized by the Center for the Study of Minority & Small Business and the Department of Business Administration at UWest.
