The Department of Business Administration at UWest has again partnered with the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) to participate in the Volunteers for Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program. In this program, volunteers from UWest will help local residents file their 2010 Individual Federal Income Tax Returns as well as CA State Tax Returns. All volunteers are required to pass the IRS's relevant tests before they can offer the services, and they will also be supervised by UWest professors Dr. Richard Phan and Dr. Bill Chen. University of the West participated in this VITA program in the past three years; and last year helped more than 350 people file their federal/CA State individual tax returns. |
