During this extensive interview, Dr. Chen explained why the US has changed its tactics and position and now is willing to sign the first phase of the partial agreements; and why China is willing to compromise too and particularly promises to buy large amounts of the US-made agricultural products. He also discussed the impacts of this trade war on the relationship between two countries and its future perspectives.

Dr. Chen has done extensive studies of China’s economy and conducted comprehensive comparisons of China with other countries. He published academic papers in these fields, including the recent one—“The Business Cycle and Economic Crisis: When Will China Experience Them?”
