Since 2003, with the collaboration of Nagarjuna Institute in Kathamandu, University of the West has sponsored the Digital Sanskrit Buddhist Canon Project, which aims to preserve the intellectual and spiritual heritage of Buddhism by organizing and digitizing original Sanskrit texts. The goal is to assemble a complete and comprehensive Sanskrit Buddhist Canon that may be freely accessed online. The DSBC Project has already digitized over 600 texts (about 50,000 pages) to date.
At this moment, we are excited to announce a new DSBC mobile app is now available for both iPhone and Android. Like the service that the DSBC offers online, the app is free for all to use.
We want to congratulate Dr. Miroj Shakya, Chair of the Religious Studies Department and DSBC Project Director, and his team for this wonderful accomplishment. Learn more about the Digital Sanskrit Buddhism Canon Project at http://www.dsbcproject.org.
