Dr. Bill Y. Chen, Professor of Business Administration at UWest, has invited Dr. Wen Cheng, Professor at California Polytech University Pomona, to give a guest lecture on “ Data Mining: Theory and Applications” to his MBA 521 Business Analytics class. All UWest students and faculty/staff are welcome to join this special seminar, to be held on Monday, October 18, 7-8:30pm at AD 205.
Dr. Cheng is a tenured Full Professor in Engineering at Cal Polytech University Pomona. He received his Ph.D. from Arizona State University. He has expertise in Big Data, Data Mining, Statistical Modeling and Deep Machine Learning. He won the nationally recognized “2008 Young Researcher Award” presented by TRB Committee on Safety Data, Analysis and Evaluation and has received several Outstanding Teaching awards.
During the lecture, Dr. Cheng will share his many years of experience in research and applications of data science. In particular, he will explain how to use advanced techniques to conduct data mining and solve real world problems.
