The UWest Financial Aid Office is pleased to present the following announcement on behalf of the International Buddhist Education Foundation:

The International Buddhist Education Foundation (IBEF) has announced that the application deadline for Fall 2022 scholarship and IBEF research grant applications is May 1, 2022. As a continuing effort to keep everyone safe and healthy during the COVID-19 pandemic, IBEF applications and all supplemental materials must be submitted electronically.

I. Continued Recipients

Please make sure that you submit all of the following required documents for your Fall 2022 scholarship renewal:

• Please complete the fillable IBEF Scholarship/Fellowship Renewal Form , sign and email the form to graceh@uwest.edu.
• Recommendation Forms filled out by Academic Advisor and Department Chair.  Please send your name, student ID number along with the fillable IBEF Recommendation Form to your Academic Advisor or Department Chair, and request them to complete the form and email back to graceh@uwest.edu before May 1.
• Completed IBEF monastic verification letter (for monastic student only)
• Completed the fillable IBEF Service Hour Time Card for service hours provided in Spring 2022.

II. First-time IBEF Applicants (including newly admitted students)

Please make sure you submit all of the following documents:

• Please complete the fillable IBEF Scholarship/Fellowship Application Form , sign and email the form to graceh@uwest.edu.
• Two letters of recommendation. Please have your recommenders email their letter of recommendation directly to graceh@uwest.edu by May 1.
• Completed IBEF monastic verification letter (for monastic student only)
• Official Transcripts
• IBEF Essay to answer the questions of:

1. Statement of Purpose (Why did you decide to study Religion?)
2. The reason why you are applying for the scholarship.
3. After you graduate, what do you hope to contribute to Buddhism?
