Rare Sanskrit Buddhist Manuscript Preservation Project Launching Ceremony

University of the West cordially invites scholars, academics, students, faculty, staff, as well as the wider community, to attend the Rare Sanskrit Buddhist Manuscript Preservation (RSBMP) Project’s website launching ceremony.

The event will be held remotely on Zoom on Wednesday, October 27, 2021 at 11:00am Pacific Time.

The RSBMP Project is a research endeavor headed by Miroj Shakya, Chair of the Department of Religious Studies. The project’s primary aim is to scan rare Sanskrit Buddhist manuscripts from private collections in Nepal (and elsewehere) and make them accessible free of charge to the world.

At its launch, the RSBMP Project will already have over 200 manuscripts available. Join us for the launch of an important resource that all students and scholars of religious studies generally and Buddhist studies specifically could appreciate.
