UWest Accreditation Reaffirmed Through 2028
University of the West is accredited by the WASC Senior College and University Commission (WSCUC). Accreditation reflects UWest’s commitment to academic quality, student support, institutional effectiveness, and continuous improvement.
WSCUC Accreditation Review
In July 2022, the WASC Senior College and University Commission reaffirmed UWest’s accreditation for six years.
During its review, WSCUC recognized several strengths at University of the West, including:
- A clear mission, vision, and set of values that bring the university community together.
- Strong university leadership and transparent communication with students and other stakeholders.
- Graduate programs that combine scholarship, contemplation, and practical skills.
- Faculty and staff who provide personalized service and strong student support.
Upcoming Accreditation Review
UWest’s next WSCUC Offsite Review is scheduled for fall 2027. The university’s Accreditation Visit is scheduled for spring 2028.
UWest also submitted a Progress Report in March 2023 addressing enrollment and budget projections. An Interim Report was submitted in March 2025 to address the six recommendations included in the 2022 Action Letter.
