William Chu

Faculty Profile
Dr. William Chu is Associate Professor of Religious Studies at University of the West. He served as a contributing translator for The Madhyamāgama: Middle Length Discourses (2013), and a contributing author for the Princeton Dictionary of Buddhism (2013). He has also translated substantial parts of the Fayuan zhulin for the Numata Center translation of the Chinese Buddhist canon.
Dr. Chu has been a Foguang University Research Fellow since 2010. He is also the founder of the Sumana Forest Mediation Center. At University of the West, he is former Chair of the Faculty Senate.
